No owner inscrptn and an absence of published price.Bright,crisp,clean, glossy laminated card boards with colour pictorial artwork illustration by UDERZO, illustrated boards with capitalised,white-lettered title and publisher blurb line; a white spine/backstrip with capitalised,black-lettered title and other black-lettered author+ illustrator surnames,rear board with a small colour illustration of Dogmatix and capitalised STUDIOS IDEFIX name,and immaculate/clean and intact,plain white endpapers without any hinge cracking.Negligible shelf-wear,to edges and corners minimal bumping with reciprocal rubbing to corner tips and foot of spine/backstrip – but no other tears or splits present laminate to front's gutter fold starting to crack with some minimal loss of laminate.Top+fore-edges with inevitable ageing/toning; contents bright,tight, clean,solid and sound – no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips – appears unread,apart from my own collation.FRANCE,slim Qrto HB,no dw/dj,as issued,illustrated,1st edn, 7-60pp [paginated] includes colour illustrated title page,colour illustrated introduction,and numerous part+full page colour illustrations by UDERZO.                                         Visually the exterior appearance acceptable and particularly internally,it is in an exceptional condition/ state of preservation and presentation,for a book of its near 50 year-old age and nature, i.e. a children's book. It is only the minimal exterior faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall. Despite those described it really is still an exceptional, exemplary example for its cleanliness,brightness and lack of more or other detracting faults.                              A 1976 English/French animated feature film based on the Asterix** comic books series,and the 3rd in that animated franchise.Goscinny aabd Uderzo,the creators of the series,wrote the story and directed the film themselves; with co-direction by Pierre Watrin and the screenplay co-written by Pierre Tchernia,a friend of the creators.The film was directed,produced and animated at Goscinny and Uderzo's own animation studio,Studios Idéfix,and is the only Asterix animated film that uses the xerography process. When released,the film received mixed reviews since its tone is more cartoony.Nowadays however,its reception is more favourable,with it often being cited as one of the best Astérix films,even reaching the status of a cult classic. Following constant defeats by the rebel village in Gaul,the Roman Senate begins to suggest that the Gauls might be gods,due to their apparent invincibility.Julius Caesar,openly disdainful of the suggestion,decides to test the village and meets with their chieftain,Vitalstatistix.He declares that the Gauls must undertake a challenge,inspired by 12 Labours of Hercules: that the village's best warriors shall perform a set of twelve new tasks,of which only gods could carry out successfully.Completion of all the tasks will see Caesar hand over the Roman Empire to them,whereas failing just one task will result in the Gauls surrendering to Rome.
