Gaul is entirely occupied by the Romans.  Well,not entirely . . . One small village of indomitable Gauls still holds out against the invaders.And life is not easy for the Roman legionaries who garrison the fortified camps of Totorum,Aquarium,Laudanum and Compendium . . . .  A Norman invasion of the Gaulish village! But only trendy teenager Justforkix,visiting from Lutetia,fears them,for the Gauls have their magic potion.But the Normas themselves want to learn the meaning of fear: can Asterix and his friends teach them? Another secret weapon is brought into play.and at long last the bard Cacofonix wins the appreciation due to him. The Normans are fearless to the point of not even understanding the concept,so they travel to Gaul where they kidnap chief Vitalstatistix's cowardly visiting nephew Justforkix to teach them fear. The 'ix' suffix of the names echoes the name of Vercingetorix,a historical Gaul chieftain,the other names are spelling puns.In many cases,the stories have them travel to various countries around the world,though other books are set in and around their village.This title is No.9 of the series and written and illustrated by both Albert Uderzo and Rene Goscinny.
