Original billhead printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink. Datelined March 16, 1869 in Sacramento, California. 8 1/4" x 6 3/4." Billhead is very clean and intact but has light age toning, a few horizontal and vertical fold lines, slight wrinkling, and a blue ink line drawn vertically down the center. A Very Good copy. An original billhead from Gillig, Mott & Company of Sacramento, California to the Central Pacific Railroad Company. Central Pacific bought nine line items. Among the items purchased are boxes of materials with numerical specifications, shears, "Hollow [Punches?]," "Hand [Groover?]," "Pail Covers," and "Small Raising Hammer." The printed header reads, "Bought of Gillig, Mott & Co., Importers of Stoves, Metals, Tin Ware, Pumps, Lead Pipe, Etc., Nos. 53 and 55 J Street, bet. Second and Third." The buyer is identified as "C.
