unfortunately the preliminary pages of this first edition have been lost and the book begins on the 'advertisement' followed by the contents and then page 1. from this point the book is complete. there are 434 pages plus the errata at the back. an inscription has been retained under the front board from a previous owner (dated 1797). the book has been rebound in recent full leather with new end papers. there is a neat hand written label to the spine. internally the book is remarkably clean for it's age with a very few age related marks but no annotation. the binding is strong..
