First American edition of this scarce account of the Wesleyan missionary whose work from 1839-1848 was of such impact that he ensured the eventual conversion of the Fijians to Christianity. Of interest is the engraved plate added for this edition, which illustrates styles of hair dressing in Fiji. Light foxing on several pages, else clean and eminently readable.
