The spine is tough and resilient and strong, despite wear. Inside, there are two maps showing Filchner's historic journey through Eastern Tibet from 1903 - 1905. One is an overview, "Ubersichtskarte" and the other is more detailed showing his route, "Karte von Ost-Tibet mit dem Reiseweg von W. Filchner". Both are enclosed in a neat envelope at the rear.
