' A short, detailed compilation of historical sources concerning Hannukah, written by the German-Jewish pedagogue Eliezer L. Ehrmann; the Judische Lesehefte of Schocken Verlag published a number of his short pedagogical treatises on Pesach, Schavuot, and Chanukka; these were issued in conjunction with Ehrmann's work with and publications by the Reich Association of Jews in Germany, from 1936-1938. Ehrmann was able to get out of Germany, and worked as a Hebrew teacher at the College of Jewish Studies and was on the board of the Board of Jewish Education of Chicago. A recent compilation of all of Ehrmann's texts on German-Jewish Religious education published in the mid 1930's was recently issued as 'Von Trauer zur Freude: Leitfäden und Texte zu den jüdischen Festen'.
