Deasy, Captaibn H H P : In Tibet and Chinese Turkestan - Being the Record of Three Years' Exploration

T Fisher Unwin, London, 1901

420 pages (complete). A sound, steady copy of this most important book about early travels in Tibet. Included: a press cutting from 1904 about Colonel Younghusband's expedition to Lhasa (he had arrived at the village of Tuna). There is also a press cutting about Tibet by William Fletcher (W A Fletcher), who travelled and hunted extensively in Tibet. ("The Tibetans are far from being a warlike race. All we came across were shocking cowards."). The boards are scuffed, worn, rubbed and a little marked by handling and shelving. They are comfortable and sure, masculine and hale. The contents have some evidence of age and use. However, they are youthful, lively, clean, clear, confident, very certain of their purpose and worth. fk. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Hardcover.
