Written by Daniel Tchaikovsky, under the pseudonym O. Danskyi. Tchaikovsky was a journalist, member of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, and supporter of OUN leader Stepan Bandera. He was imprisoned in Auschwitz from 1942 until the camp was liberated in 1945. (Wikipedia) This account of Auschwitz is the first survivor's account to be published in Ukrainian, and is one of the earliest accounts of the horrors Nazi concentration camps.
