A biography of the legendary social welfare worker, Emilie Solomon, who was the first chairperson of the Congregational Women's Federation of South Africa among other achievements. The cover is sturdy and sound, with wear to the corners and some scuffing. Inside, the contents have foxing throughout. The front inside cover has an ex-libris plate from the library of Dick Friedlander (one of the most loved of mayors of Cape Town). The frontispage has a gift inscription made out to his grandmother, Gretchen (not from the author). The pages are neat, benign, sober, assured and placid. fk. Book Condition: Fair.
