(London: Longmans, Green, and Co., 1907)

Crown 8vo; full calf prize binding with gilt emblem on upper board, and spine tooled in compartments; marbled edges and endpapers; pp. xix + (i) + 492; frontis. with tissue-guard; engravings in text. Boards a little rubbed; endpapers and outermost leaves rather foxed, sporadic moderate foxing throughout. Good condition, in an attractive binding. The Baroness Anna Brassey joined her husband Lord Thomas Brassey in the luxury yacht Sunbeam on several voyages, accompanied by a large entourage. Of the books resulting from these adventures, 'A Voyage in the Sunbeam' is the most famous, and saw several editions. The present edition includes an appendix containing a tabular 'Summary of the Entire Voyage, compiled from the log-book.' Leaving Cowes in early July 1876, the Sunbeam headed for Madeira and West Africa before crossing the Atlantic and reaching Brazil in mid-August. Moving down the Atlantic coast of South America, the vessel reached the southern Pacific at the start of November. Several Pacific islands, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Ceylon were included in the itinerary before the crossing of the Indian Ocean, Aden being reached on the 15th of April 1877. From Suez, the yacht entered the Mediterranean, reaching Alexandria early in May, and Cowes before the end of the month.
