8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. On offer is a fascinating group of manuscript relics of the Cold War being four [4] calendars used as diaries with handwritten notations and entries detailing the service and activities of a Titan II ICBM [Intercontinental Ballistic Missile] launch crew at Little Rock AFB, in 373 SMS/308 SMW from September 1964 to September of 1968 making for a one of a kind look at the height of the Cold War of an active duty ballistic missile combat crew. The author details everything from alerts, scrambles, recurring training, inspections, operational notes, promotions, and of course the author's personal notes of dates and parties are recorded in them. The last alert was on August 28, 1968, at Complex 3-6. [While the name of the author is known we will only provide initials for public use and provide the full name to the future owners of these diaries.] Historians and researchers will find a unique look into the life and service of a young American serviceman and a truly uncommon relic of America's Cold War with Russia a mere 3 years since the Cuban Missile Crisis. BIO NOTES: The author was one of the first 1st Lieutenants to get command of a launch crew. We also know the calendars, from the Kuhlman Electric Company, were supplied yearly by a family member.
